Lesson 6: Heredity Test and Pedigree Presentations
Summary:
Now that students have completed the unit, they will take an hour long test on all the major concepts. The last half hour will be allotted for the rest of the pedigree presentations. This will close out Chapter 26 on Inheritance of Traits, and move to the next chapter on Human Genetics. The pedigree activity will help students get a preview of the common task that they will be doing.
Objectives:
The student will be tested on their knowledge of heredity.
The student will continue to present their pedigrees to the class.
Materials:
Heredity Test
Student Pedigrees
Instruction Opening - Last minute questions any students have
Students will have 60 minutes to complete the unit test
If they finish early, they can start reading for the next chapter
2. Pedigree Presentations
Students will finish presenting their pedigrees to the class
Closing - What did you learn from the pedigree activity that can be applied to your life? - Tie in how the pedigrees the have created will tie in with the next chapter as well and where we are going with their genetics common task project.
- Collect final work.
